Our client is a leading specialty property and casualty insurance company seeking an experienced Senior Commerical Underwriter, Workers Compensation to join their team.
This position will be responsible for the underwriting of new and renewal accounts for General Liability, Casualty, Property, and works compensation for agents and producers assigned within the territory and in compliance with company guidelines, individual line authority, and pricing standards.
We are seeking an individual who is hard working, intelligent, and passionate and who is always striving towards excellence. The qualified Senior Commerical Underwriter will have three years of commercial line workers compensation experience.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a profitable book of business via solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing.
- Support compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines.
- Provide timely processing of notices, quotes, binds and endorsements and other service requests within company guidelines.
- Operate within written individual line of authority.
- Obtain facultative reinsurance placements as required per company guidelines.
- Review loss control and proactively work with agents to improve quality of risk by obtaining compliance.
- Provide professional, timely and courteous internal and external communication to successfully resolve issues pertaining to policyholders and territory producers.
- Participate in developing, managing and maintaining outside client relationships. Includes occasional travel or virtual meetings with agents to deepen business relationships.
- Inform Territory Management of all issues and activity and communicate any competitive information.
Requirements:
- CPCU or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years of workers compensation underwriting experience.
- Technical and analytical experience with Commercial Package, BOP, Commercial Auto and Umbrella insurance coverage and risk selection and pricing.
- Experience with ISO based classifications
- Ability to interpret and analyze data and make an informed, calculated risk decision.
Salary: 95-120K based on experience plus commission
